Family Promise Moving Forward

Sometimes we thought the day would never come. But on June 23rd, after months of preparation and renovations, we moved the Family Promise offices to Ridgewood and opened our NEW DAY CENTER!! Thanks to countless volunteers, homeless families in the Network have a place to be during the day and on weekends when they are not working. Bonim Builders, a program of UJA of Northern NJ, demolished, framed, drilled, spackled and painted Sunday after Sunday. Joe Manela of Belcar Electric ran enough electric, phone and internet cable to circle the planet. Sam Greenblatt of Super Fuel Plumbing and Heating wrestled with a bear of a plumbing job whenever his schedule permitted. Friends from RUMC mopped floors and washed windows in a gesture of welcome that we will never forget.

And now it’s time to celebrate! Please join us for the official Ribbon Cutting on Sunday, October 2nd at Ridgewood United Methodist Church. (Details are below.)

We have all the pieces in place. With your help, we will continue to work to end the humiliation and hardship of family homelessness in Bergen County.

Gratefully,

Kate
