The Youth Council for the Homeless is a volunteer opportunity for High School teens from Bergen County to aid Family Promise in assisting the homeless and their families. Specific activities teens can participate in include:
• playing with and tutoring homeless children
• preparing and serving food to the homeless at our Walk-In-Dinner Program
• attending our annual Youth Conference for the Homeless
• start a homelessness awareness group at your school
• organizing and participating in fundraising events for "Camp Lots of Fun".
Participate in this year's Bike Bergen Fundraiser on April 3, 2011 and you may win a Scholarship Grant. The top two high school students that raise the most money and meet the eligibility requirements will receive a Scholarship Grant. The top fundraiser will receive $2,000; the runner-up will receive $1,000. See attached eligibility requirements.
For more information, please call the Youth Council Director, Cindy Blinn at 201-833-8009.
