Family Promise of Bergen County was honored to be named a beneficiary of the New Jersey Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association (NJ FMBA)’s 12th Annual Cooked & Uncorked, which was held on Monday, February 26 at Pines Manor in Edison. This beloved fundraiser welcomed more than 600 guests for a fun and delicious evening featuring the Ultimate Firefighter Cook-Off, where dozens of fire departments from across the state put their culinary skills to the test in hopes of taking home the coveted top prize in one of five categories: Handhelds, Firehouse Cuisine, Mains, Deserts, and People’s Choice. Our very own Executive Director Kate Duggan even joined the roster of esteemed judges this year in the Firehouse Category! Guests also enjoyed tastings from some of New Jersey’s best restaurants and liquor distributers, an expansive tricky tray, 50/50 raffle, and more.

The NJ FMBA represents over 5,000 career firefighters, EMTs, and dispatchers from across New Jersey. In addition to Family Promise, proceeds from the event also benefited the Cooperman Barnabas Burn Foundation and the Mark A. Virag Memorial Cancer Fund.

We are so grateful to NJ FMBA for the opportunity to participate in this incredible event and for supporting our organization. Congratulations to all of the winners!
