People often say, “If you want something done, ask a busy person.” Well, have we got the woman for you! At their annual gala, the YWCA honored Family Promise trustee, Ellen Rafferty, as A Woman of Action. According to the program, A Woman of Action is a woman whose problem-solving, drive, and spirit are unstoppable regardless of the challenge. This describes Ellen to a tee.

Her bio mentions the many roles she fills at BD where she has worked for 16 years. In her free time, she serves on several boards (her favorite of which is Family Promise) and is a member of several committees and professional organizations. Ellen’s bio from the event program is below.

It is our honor to have a Trustee with the energy and tenacity to do the work Ellen does for Family Promise and for literally, the world. Congratulations, Ellen!

Ellen’s bio from the program:
Ellen manages international, national and local corporate giving programs, expands access to healthcare among vulnerable populations through strategic philanthropy programs; leads large-scale volunteer service trips to deliver preventive care to at-risk patients; ensures donations of medical products and funds reach those in need; and connects BD employees with local non-profits. She serves on several boards and is a member of the Association of Corporate Contribution Professions, the Committee to Encourage Corporate Philanthropy and the Business Volunteer Council of Northern NJ.
