Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
While Bergen County was covered in a blanket of beautiful snow in December, it was nothing compared to the snow-themed virtual party for the children in our programs hosted by the Family Promise Youth Council. These high school volunteers from across the county spent weeks preparing games, practicing music numbers, and creating crafts for everyone to enjoy. Gift bags containing winter-themed treats and games were delivered in advance to families for the event. Together –virtually, that is– the children read a book about a snowman who kept getting too hot, made melting snowman crafts from paper, and assembled their own snowmen from marshmallows, pretzel sticks, and candies. The night was topped off with a beautiful piano and saxophone duet by Youth Council members and a rousing game of bingo. We’d like to express our gratitude to Youth Director Alina Albano and all of the talented and caring Youth Council members for bringing everyone together for this wonderful, creative holiday celebration!
