Oh, what a night! Thank you to everyone who supported the Family Promise Gala, which was held on October 10, 2018, at the Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes. It was a tremendous success, with a sold-out crowd of volunteers, sponsors, and friends!
This year’s Gala celebrated the joy and impact of Camp Lots-of-Fun, Family Promise’s two-week summer day camp for children who have experienced homelessness. We were pleased and proud to honor OritaniBank Charitable Foundation for its support of Camp Lots-of-Fun, and Family Promise volunteers Alina Albano and Sheila Verna, co-directors of the Youth Council for the Homeless. In addition to inspiring messages from all of our honorees, Youth Council member Emily Padavano shared her experience of being a counselor at Camp Lots-of-Fun. We also heard from 13-year-old Jaden, who brought many guests to tears with his moving speech about how being a camper at Camp Lots-of-Fun impacted his young life.
We also shared our new vision for the future of Family Promise, which Paul talks about in his opening letter. We are in the very early planning stages, but please stay tuned for more information.
Thank you to the many individuals, congregations, and companies who supported the Gala by purchasing tickets or contributing donations, journal ads, auction items, and well wishes. Sponsors of the Gala included OritaniBank Charitable Foundation, BD, Columbia Bank Foundation, PNC Wealth Management, PSEG, Sharp, Rebecca Day of Prominent Properties/Sotheby’s International Realty, Edelman Financial Services, Inserra ShopRite Supermarkets, Lakeland Bank, M&T Bank, SUEZ, and Visions Federal Credit Union. We appreciate your investment in the families we serve.
