Happy New Year!  I’m sure that you will join me in rejoicing that 2020 is behind us!

What a year it was!  The challenges that COVID brought – job losses, food insecurity and the uncertainty.

But one thing was never in question and that was the loyalty and commitment of our volunteers and donors.  While other organizations struggled, we were able to run our programs without interruptions and even expand them.  Our volunteers kept showing up.  When some could not, others stepped up to fill the void.  Our donors came through to make certain we had the funds to do our job.  People were fed, families were housed and grocery store gift cards were provided.  None of this would have been possible without YOU!  You are the heart and soul of Family Promise.

Sadly, we lost a very important person in this organization, Nancy Woods, this past year.  It was through her passion and vision that Family Promise has helped countless working families become self-sufficient.  But it is through YOU that her legacy continues.  With her same passion, compassion, and willingness to do whatever it takes, Family Promise was able to help more families this year than ever before and we continue to do so.

I for one am happy to turn the page on a new year.

Already we rented a fifth New Leaf apartment and are hiring a new Family Case Manager, getting us ready for the end of the eviction moratorium.  We have renewed our commitment to finding a new building so that we can help more families and provide more programming.

We don’t yet know the challenges that 2021 will bring but one thing is for certain…we are ready to meet those challenges with renewed energy and commitment knowing that you, our friends, are behind us.  Together we are Family Promise.

Wishing you all good health and happiness in the New Year!
