The last several years have been extremely challenging for families facing homelessness and food insecurity. 2022 was no different. The end of pandemic relief programs coupled with rising housing and grocery costs has pushed many working families to the brink. Thanks to your generous support, Family Promise was able to respond to this increased need. Click here for our 2022 Annual Review to read more about the work you helped us accomplish.
As you know, Family Promise of Bergen County is committed to making a long-term positive impact on the lives of families with children by providing the tools to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty forever. In 2022, we sheltered and/or gave support to 436 family members and provided $143,000 to stabilize and help working families avoid eviction and homelessness.
In addition to providing housing security, we also address hunger in our community with our Walk-in-Dinner Program. We are now serving over 200 dinners every night to families and individuals. In 2022, we served 53,000 meals and are currently on track to reach 63,000 meals in 2023.
You made everything in this Annual Review possible and for that, we are extremely grateful.
While I am on the subject of gratitude, I’d like to thank everyone, (hikers, sponsors, and donors), who turned out for our 30th Annual Hike for Hope. We had a beautiful day, which is highly unusual for this event. What was not unusual was that you, our friends, came out and raised funds to allow us to continue our vital work.
People say, “It takes a village”. Enjoy the 2022 Annual Review knowing that you were, and continue to be, an important part of our village.
All the best,
Kate
