We are happy to report we met our fundraising goal of $20,000 which OritaniBank Charitable Foundation generously matched to support the camps programs. BD donated brand new backpacks filled with school supplies for each camper, and donated and served lunch on the first day of camp. The Robert and Joan Dircks Foundation provided a grant of $5,000, The Todd Ouida Foundation provided $2,000 and the Owens Group donated $500.

Camp Lots-of-Fun also received $1500 from both Visions Federal Credit Union and Sharp Electronics (who also brought a cupcake truck to lunch one day), providing each camper with a $100 gift card for back-to-school clothes and other necessities. The Teen Foundation of Temple Sinai of Bergen County donated $1,000 for gift cards for teens beyond the age of Camp Lot-of-Fun who are heading back to school.

SUEZ hosted campers at a half-day program at its water treatment plant in Haworth. The day included an interactive tour, hands-on learning activities, a book fair and lunch. SUEZ also donated drinking water for the two weeks of camp, refillable water bottles and $1,000 to the program.

TD Bank provided a financial literacy program for the young campers, introducing them to concepts of banking and saving.

Campers were thrilled to have not one but TWO visits from some four-legged friends – a visit coordinated by State Farm Insurance featured Aladdin and his owner Michelle, who talked to campers about dog bite prevention and Maureen Damato and her sweet dogs, Hunter and BeGe.

Girl Scouts of Oradell, led by Isabella Tricarico, donated drawstring bags and water bottles for each camper. They also provided white t-shirts and tie-dying supplies for a first day of camp activity. We are also grateful to Anne and Jerry Fleisher for donating beach towels and to Jeanny Osterwalder who donated flip flops for pool days.

We are thankful to the many other local organizations and groups that donated supplies, food and lunches for camp, including Wyckoff Reformed Church who donated all of the snacks, Jane Bellis, The Bergen Volunteer Center, Renee Harper and family, Rebecca Lades, Mary Shaw, and Domino’s Pizza of Fair Lawn who provided lunch and a cupcake truck!

Thanks to the tremendous generosity of the community, our campers surely had a summer to remember at Camp Lots-of-Fun!
