A beautiful May day helped make our annual Hike or Bike event a huge success. We had over 150 people hiking or biking around Ridgewood, all in support for our homeless families.
This event couldn’t have happened without the incredible work from a number of organizations. About 60 teens from Pascack Valley High School and another 20 from Youth Council for the Homeless came out not only to help set up and work the event but also to participate! We had a DJ who kept the mood upbeat and fun, a Girl Scout troop that brought crafts and games for the children, a popcorn machine from the First Congregational Church in Park Ridge and tons of donated food from local restaurants.
A very special thanks for our top fund raisers for the event:
• Most Money raised as a Team – St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Harrington Park $1545
• Most Money raised as a Family – Fleisher Family $4000
• Most Money raised by an Individual – Alina Albano $880
• Most Money raised by an Individual online – Richard Chun $1435
We also had the unveiling of the Adam Rosignolo Family Success Fund, which will provide income for education and job training for our families for years to come.
Lastly we would like to thank all of our sponsors, BD, Inserra Supermarkets, NE Laser Vein Institute, The Presbyterian Church of Norwood, and our newest sponsor Freedom Bank. We acknowledge with special appreciation Cyclesport of Park Ridge who again donated a bicycle for the event.
Thanks again for everyone’s support in making this such a successful event.
