Family Promise has again committed to providing emergency shelter to any family needing a place to stay overnight during what is known as a Code Blue. A Code Blue alert is declared whenever the temperature drops below the freezing point and weather conditions pose a danger to those who are unsheltered. In Bergen County, a Code Blue goes into effect when the temperature is predicted to drop below 32 degrees with precipitation or below 25 degrees without. Family Promise will make additional space available at Ridgewood United Methodist Church until conditions improve and the alert is called off. We presently have adequate volunteer coverage for when the service is needed. This year high school students, Amanda and Cassandra Diaz who collected items from friends at a family Christmas party, secured the food donation.
