Every night for 25 years, Family Promise has served meals to the hungry in Hackensack. We celebrated that milestone on March 15th when many volunteers gathered to be thanked for all they do, and to hear more about Family Promise’s other programs. Thanks to all who have provided meals to those in need for this past quarter century.
With Spring here, there are a number of opportunities for you, your family, and friends to come together and have fun and, at the same time, support Family Promise.
Our annual Hike or Bike will be held on Sunday, May 1st in Ridgewood. This is fun afternoon for those who want to walk three miles or cycle for 15 miles in support of our programs. And this year we are adding something new . . . Hike or Bike or Trike! A shorter distance for our younger supporters to walk or trike!
On Thursday, June 9th we will hold our annual Golf Outing. Last year all of the golfers really enjoyed playing at Edgewood County Club in River Vale, and so we will return there again this year. This is an opportunity to have a great day of golf as well as lunch and dinner . . . and, if you are not a golfer (I didn’t golf until last year!), you can still support Family Promise by attending the dinner. Take the President’s Challenge and come out to golf this June 9th.
We will also draw the winning tickets for our annual Raffle at the Golf Outing.
One more thing . . . see the article in this newsletter about how you can support Family Promise in getting a new makeover of our Family Center. IKEA will pay for the makeover if our project is chosen above those of two other organizations. So please vote, and you can – and SHOULD – vote early and often, once a day, through April 10th.
I look forward to seeing many of you at Hike or Bike and our Golf Outing.
Regards,
Paul R. Shackford
President of the Board of Trustees
