In true Family Promise tradition some of our very best program leaders come from our extraordinary cadre of volunteers. This certainly is true with our new director for Camp Lots-of-Fun, Ashwini “Ash” Reddy.
A school counselor at Paramus High School for 10 years, Ash is a monthly weekend volunteer at the Family Center spending time with the children, has helped at our annual galas, and volunteered for the Hike or Bike events. Encouraged by Margo Heller, Director of Volunteers, to send in her resume, Ash’s credentials include a BA in Psychology from Rutgers, a MA in Special Education and a MA in School Counseling from William Paterson University. A Bergen County resident for most of her life, she became a school counselor after a successful tenure as a special education teacher for 10 years in Westwood.
Ash is a goal setter! On her “bucket list’ is to visit all 50 states by the time she is 50 and for 2019 her goal is to read 30 books! But her most important goal this summer focuses on Camp Lots-of- Fun— “ to create two weeks of fun and memories for campers and counselors…to be in the moment and relish our time together before we go back to school.”
We’re excited to have Ash at the helm of our camp and realize her goals for our kids!
