Gemma Margaliotta is a seven-year-old first grader with a passion for reading and writing. She dreams of being an author and a teacher someday. Gemma wrote a book called Winter Rules and told her mom, Julia, that she wanted to sell copies and raise money for an organization that helps children and families. After learning about Family Promise, they decided to donate the proceeds to us to support the Holiday Giving Fund. Gemma sold enough books to personally deliver a check for $250!
We are inspired by Gemma’s creativity and talent, and we’re sure she has many more books in her future. But even more importantly, her compassion and determination to help those who are less fortunate serves as a power of example to other children (and adults) everywhere. The world needs more people like Gemma!
